Joseph Zelloe

Principal

 

A Registered Architect since 1989, Joe has extensive experience in a wide range of architectural project types and developing design solutions to complex projects and managing their implementation. He has worked in both large and small architectural firms, leading teams to deliver superior project to his clients. His passion for design is reflected in his explorations of experiential design, with a focus on customer journeys and visual communications for all sizes of projects. Joe is responsible for developing and managing residential, retail, and commercial client relationships.

 

Prior to joining db2, Joe founded Zelloe+Weaver Architects, a full service architectural firm focused on commercial spaces, retail experiences, and residential design for 12 years. He has completed work with national retailers such as Brookstone, Pandora and Levi’s, as well as smaller retail boutiques such as Landry & Arcari, Quinstance, Old Time Sports and Sound Lion. Z+W Architects provided landlord support services to Simon Properties, Goldberg Properties and Lisco Development. Commercially, the firm worked on shopping center and office building renovations, breweries, community, and collegiate buildings.  Z+W Architects also supported local Main Streets and Rotary efforts in the Beverly community, assisting a large variety of small restaurants, retailers and service providers. Residentially the firm provided design, zoning evaluation, and planning services for over 100 multi-family and single family residential projects throughout New England. As a result, Joe's expertise includes accessible code strategies and working with a multitude of municipalities, building departments, and zoning boards.

 

Additional experiences as Project Architect / Manager include Residential Mill Renovations, Campus Centers, Transportation buildings, Brownstone renovations and 10 years at Bergmeyer Associates, designing, managing and implementing retail store programs for international and national brands such as Timberland, Monsoon, Akris, Britches, Gant and Rockport.

 

Joe enjoys mentoring his team, interior design and architecture students as an NCARB advisor.  He is currently an adjunct Professor at Endicott College, an avid sailor, who also enjoys land experiences like hiking, backpacking and cycling.
